Offensive tackle Mike Adams has been suspended by the Buckeyes for their upcoming game this weekend against Navy. It remains unclear why Adams has been suspended but sources close to the situation hint that the suspension may last up to two games taking him out of the USC game as well. Adams was largely expected to compete for the starting job at left tackle coming into the season but the mammoth tackle has mostly been running with the third team offense throughout camp. Converted tight end Andy Miller is expected to get the nod as starter being backed up by J.B. Shugarts. Adams has largely been a mystery to Buckeye fans this spring as he came to Columbus last year with nearly limitless potential for an offensive lineman. He reportedly wowed coaches at the Army All-American game last season and if not for a shoulder injury many thought he would have seen significant playing time already as a true freshman. To say his quick development and contribution to the Ohio State offensive line is needed is a bit of an understatement as on the whole word has it that the Ohio State offensive line has been average at best in fall camp.
